As you are aware, we had our routine Ofsted inspection on May 2nd and would like to sincerely thank all the parents who showed Wizz Kids enormous support on the day. We received several emails and letters showing how much you appreciate all the hard work the staff do to look after and nurture your children.
We will be holding a bake sale on Friday May 10th at 3pm. We will be raising funds for Nepal so please help support us by bringing cakes or biscuits during the day and some spending money too. We will set up our stand in the playground to catch school children on their way home too so we will need plenty of bakes.
Thank you for everybody who helped bring and buy cakes . We made an amazing £110 for the charity and the cakes were amazing
We celebrated Easter at Wizz kids with lots of special themed activities. The children really enjoyed a visit from Rachel, our local minister at All Saints church. Rachel talked about the Easter story and bought arts and crafts activities for the children. They also enjoyed Easter baking, making chicks and Easter baskets and had a egg hunt in the afternoon. Thank you to all those who were involved.
We are always looking for different people and parents to get involved with Wizz kids. We are currently encouraging parents , grandparents and carers to be actively involved with reading times at Wizz Kids. Last week we were visited by a flying dragon but there is no need to come in fancy dress, just bring a favourite story or arrange to borrow one of ours. group sizes are small and the children love seeing family members getting involved.
Wizz Kids were very grateful to have a visit and demonstration from our local Mountain Rescue unit. Sarah left her usual post in the office to volunteer to be rescued by the children under instruction from Tony! The children helped to cover Sarah with the yellow rescue tent and to support her leg and cover her up. The blow up stretcher was expertly strapped around Sarah to make sure she was stable and warm.
The rescue land rover was a big hit with the children and they all enjoyed climbing aboard and seeing the rescue equipment. We would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Tony and the local team for such an enjoyable and educational day. Here are some memories from the visit
We will be celebrating Chinese New Year at Wizz Kids on Tuesday 5th February. One of our mums has kindly agreed to come into Wizz Kids and we will be learning about Chinese celebrations, traditions and food. All parents are welcome to join their child from 9am til 12pm. You are welcome to stay for lunch too and are happy to order school dinners if you wish – just sign the hot dinners folder in the morning.
Update : Wow what an amazing day! The nursery was transformed with lots of Chinese decorations, crafts, foods , dancing dragon and Chinese fancy dress. A massive thank you to all staff and Mrs Chang who was an amazing help and inspiration for the children. One parents wrote an email expressing their thanks :
” F left nursery absolutely buzzing with excitement about her ” Chinese Day”. I have heard all about the wonderful activities she took part in and the chocolate coins were enjoyed and shared with her sister. Than you so much for all your hard work and the planning involved to give the children such a fun learning experience ”
In the Easter holidays we have booked a yoga instructor to come to Wizz kids to hold a free family yoga session for all children, parents and siblings. We are asking that parents kindly make a donation on the day to a named charity.
Summer Rattigan is a qualified instructor and the session should be held outside on the MUGGA – weather permitting!
The session is booked for Wednesday 10th April at 9.15am and should last around 45 mins. We will send out reminders nearer the time and look forward to seeing you there!
