Free Early Learning Funding


15 hours Universal FEL for 3- and 4-year-olds, the extended 15 hour for working parents and 2-year-old FEL

Every child the term after they are 3 are entitled to 15 hours of Free Learning (FEL). This covers 38 weeks a year and can be stretched to cover 50 weeks a year and is called the universal 15 hours and equates to 570 hours a year. You can split these hours at more than one setting.


There is available a further 15 hours called the extended offer (total of 1,140 hours per year) for eligible working parents with 3- and 4-year-olds, it is the same as the universal offer in that it can be stretched over 50 weeks and can be split over more than one setting.


If you are eligible for the extended offer and claim it at Wizz Kids there is a calendar monthly charge of £50 to cover expenses such as snack, resources etc as the funding only covers the basic costs of childcare, for more information on this please speak to the manager.


Some families are entitled to 15 hours funding at 2 but you must be meet the eligibility criteria.

All new starters must be in Nursery no later than January. No places can be held, and this includes FEL placements beyond January. Any new children with a FEL Easter eligibility will need to pay from January beforehand or delay their start until the following September.

TAX FREE CHILDCARE

If you are employed or self employed you may be eligible for Tax free childcare. For every £8 you pay into your account the government will automatically add £2 up to the value of £2,000 per child per year (or £4,000 for disabled children) visit www.gov.uk/taxfree-childcare for how to apply.

FUNDED EARLY LEARNING

Every child, the term after they are 3, is entitled to 15 hours of Funded Early Learning (FEL). This is known as the universal offer as all 3/4 year old's are entitled to this regardless of their parents' circumstances. It covers 38 weeks a year, equating to 570 hours a year, and can be stretched to cover 50 weeks a year if required. You can split these hours at more than one setting.




There is further funding available for working parents, for children the term AFTER they are 9 months old (a total of 1,140 hours per year). Working parents' funding is subject to eligibility and must be applied for via HMRC before 1st January, 1st April or 1st September. It is the same as the universal offer in that it can be stretched over 50 weeks and can be split over more than one setting.


Some families are entitled to 15 hours of funding at 2, regardless of whether they are working, but you must meet the eligibility criteria.

We will be increasing our fees to the following from SEPTEMBER 2022.


  • £5.50 per hour
  • Out of School Club - £4.15 per hour


Our core day is 9am to 3pm we can no longer offer half day sessions due to access restrictions onto Totley Primary school’s site. Outside the core day you can book 1hour (1/2 hour slot for 5:00 – 5:30) slots from 8am -9am and from 3pm – 5:30pm according to your needs. There is a minimum booking of 2 days a week required.

We have restricted access between 9am to 3pm due to being on Totley Primary School’s site. Outside the restricted hours you can book 1/2 hour slots from 8am -9am and from 3pm – 5:30pm according to your needs. There is a minimum booking of 7 hours per day for a minimum of 2 days a week required.
